The Ox hunting staff are professional, good-natured, and clearly love their jobs. Larry has hunted all his life and has gained a wealth of knowledge he draws on to put you on your game. They have the best archery blinds the world has ever seen that get Bowhunters up close and personal. The game animals are both plentiful and of excellent trophy quality.
My kids and I were blown away by the incredible collection of tanks, rifles, mortars, bazookas, and armor at the tank barn. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable as they gave us the grand tour and invited us to climb around on their dozen or so drivable tanks and armored transports from all over the world - including the only remaining “fully-functional” Sherman tank.
Eric (the chef) is friendly and approachable and cooks up some of the most delicious dishes you can imagine. He uses prime beef, venison, fowl, bacon, and all sorts of exotic meats to create unforgettable meals. The food is simply some of the best I’ve ever eaten.
I have stayed and hunted this place 5 times now. EVERY single time it has only got better. I hate that some of the others on here didn't see pigs, but we have shot more than our fair share. My wife went night vision hunting this past Saturday night and shot at least 8 to 10 pigs. Highly recommend an Axis, Aoudad, or Blackbuck hunt. Ask for Larry to be your guide!

Guests stay in old-fashioned wooden cabins under hundred-year-old live oaks that are near but not too close to the lodge. They look like something from a Lonesome Dove set but sport all the amenities you would expect from a 5-Star outfit.
I’ve been to the Ox Ranch twice, and was greatly impressed both times. The Ox Ranch is located half an hour from Uvalde on some of the prettiest Hill Country acreage I’ve ever seen. They’ve created a series of little lakes on Live Oak Creek and have hand-made a one of a kind timber-frame lodge next to them. The lodge has every convenience you could hope for including a pool table, a huge fireplace at each end, shuffleboard, card tables, wet bar, lots of couches and seating areas, etc.
We drove 4 wheelers and enjoyed the beauty of nature and animals all around us. We are NOT hunters and went there to enjoy the experience of being together as a family and seeing the animals and the scenery was amazing. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Why I loved this place? LARRY! Awesome guide. Felt like I was hunting with a dear friend. Top notch everything! Food, cabins, night vision hunting, bass fishing, photography.....I could go on and on. Thanks guys.
